Hacking Hazards

This is a regular scenario during the winter.  All of the sheep are down from the high mountains and they are moved around a lot in search of fresh grazing.  Fortunately I was on foot on this occasion.  I’m not sure what either of my horses would make of a sheep tsunami on a narrow road.

  1. Not long ago husband heard noise outside kitchen door and opened it to find single sheep standing there with enquiring expression (he says). He shut it into the yard and contacted various local sheep owners to no avail. Lost lamb finally legged it down the lane – apparently the transhumance had recently been through the village and he/she must have been an escapee.
Hope he made it back to the herd as a pose to becoming someone’s dinner). Loved the video!
